  • dallas R satterfield - lead pastor

    Dallas serves as Lead Pastor here at AJ First. He is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a true man of God. He is whole heartedly committed to reaching the lost in need of a Savior. Being Kansas born and raised he comes from a long family line of pastors within the Assemblies of God denomination. Dallas was ordained in 1992 and has faithfully served in church ministry in Kansas, Texas, and Arizona. His educational background includes Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Evangel University. Dallas has been married 36 years to his wife Lisa and they have 3 adult children, Paige, Morgan, and Drew. Last, but not least, Dallas is an avid Cowboys football fan and loves to grill/cook for family and friends!!!

    3. Share a special childhood memory: My birthday is December 25 and for my 10th birthday on June 25, my parents surprised me with a present - a 10 speed bicycle!

  • Bob Roche - Associate Pastor

    Pastor Bob came to Christ after a long life of alcholism. He soon felt the call of God to preach the Gospel and began pursuing Biblical education with a passion. He is now an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He and his wife Gloria enjoy serving in the church in various capacities, including visitation, H.O.P.E. ministry, and the G.E.A.R. Station outreach to name just a few. 

    He is also a Racers for Christ Chaplain at Arizona Speedway and loves to play golf.

    3. Share your best ministry experience: My best ministry experience probably hasn't happened yet! But in this season of ministry, I must say preaching at Phoenix Teen Challenge is high on the list.

  • Mary June "MJ" Ficarra - Adult seniors' pastor

    Mary June is a third generation minister ordained with the Assemblies of God. Her grandfather was a Methodist circuit rider and her mother was an ordained Assemblies of God evangelist. She is a native of Tennessee and has a distinct southern drawl and likes to say "Ya'll!"

    She serves as the assistant Women's Ministries leader and loves music. Pastor Mary June and her husband Jim also have a ministry at a convalescent home.

    3. Share a special childhood memory: I gave my heart to Jesus at 8 years old in Oral Roberts Revival in Memphis, TN.

  • nicolas allen - youth pastor/Life Group Coordinator

    Nic and his wife, Britt, have a passion to see the youth of this generation walk in the fullness and wholeness found in Christ. Nic graduated from Western Bible College with a B.A. in Pastoral Studies, interned with the youth ministry of Desert Springs Church for a year and a half, and has his licensing credentials through the Assemblies of God. He is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, and loves local coffee shops.

  • odis mccloud - "the gathering"/Praise & Prayer Pastor

    Odis and his wife Valora have been apart of AJ First since 2016. He leads the "The Gathering" Service on Wednesday afternoons during the Fall & Winter seasons. Odis has been in ministry for over 30 years, and is passionate about seeing change in people's lives by the power of Jesus.

  • Robin rost - worship leader

    A sought-after worship leader for conferences and concerts, Robin is a gifted singer and musician who plays several instruments. Her passion and energy for God is evident as she faithfully ushers the congregation into His presence each week.

    Her musically talented family includes husband John, who plays a mean trumpet, and three kids Jadon, Allison, & Skylar.

    1. What do you do for fun? Camping and drinking coffee, coffee, coffee

    2. What is your favorite:

    3. Share your best ministry experience: As a high school choir director, I took my top group to New York City and we sang in a massive, historic, beautiful church. Every single student ended the concert with tears in their eyes. They felt the power of the Holy Spirit. One student who was not a Christian came up to me and said, "I don't know what that was, but that was AWESOME!" I now what it was!!!....Music can be a powerful tool that the Lord uses to reach people and touch their hearts. I am humbled and blessed when He uses me to inspire people through His gift of Music!!!! 

     (this is only one-you can't just choose one and say it's the best-all ministry experiences are the best!!)


    Brenda has served at the Community Thrift Store since it's inception in 2015. She is passionate about seeing change in Apache Junction for the homeless population and those in crisis. Brenda also serves at AJ First in different roles as one of our teachers, as a Certified Minister with the Assemblies of God and on our prayer team.

  • leann rogers - administrative assistant

    Leann and her husband, Kevin Rogers, have been a part of Apache Junction First Assembly for four years. Previously she attended Red Mountain Christian Center (Via Church) with Pastor Jeff Peterson. Leann accepted the Administrative Assistant position after she worked with Arizona Ministry Network for 6 years. She is a mother of two grown children, named Aaron & Rachel. She also enjoys hiking and being in the great outdoors!

  • Rachel Birman - Media ministries coordinator

    Rachel serves as the Media Ministries Coordinator. In addition, she also serves at the Community Thrift Store. Previously she has partnered with several Assemblies of God churches in their communications department. Also she has worked at Western Bible College, where she received her BA in Biblical Studies. Rachel and her husband, Travis, have 2 pittbull labs named Smokey & Rocko, a tuxedo cat named Ross and a daughter named Zoe.  She enjoys movies, coffee, and anything chocolate!

  • julia beall - fundraising Specialist/Deaf Ministries

    Julia Beall is serving as the Fundraising Specialist, and she is heading up the Deaf Ministry for AJ First. She graduated cum laude from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management and leadership, and She graduated from Capella University cum laude with a master’s degree in nonprofit management and leadership. Julia and her husband, Brian, moved from Indiana to Arizona to be close to family. She also has a Miniature Pinscher, named Porsche. Julia is passionate about nonprofits, fundraising, and sign language!

  • David bailie - hospitality

    David and his wife Kayla have been a part of AJ First Assembly since January 2014 when they relocated here from West Des Moines, Iowa. They have a daughter, Marisa, who is attending ASU in her Junior year.

    David retired from Hy-Vee, Inc., a Midwest regional grocery store chain after a 42-year career, the last 25 years working in the corporate real estate department acquiring locations for new stores, developing sites and securing city approvals for construction. He was also responsible for disposing of excess real estate within the company.

    Since retirement, David stays busy heading up our ushers and greeters and helping in other capacities around the church. He is also the President of his Home Owners Association and serves on the Architectural Control Committee of the HOA. David and Kayla work with OCJ kids and are involved with Sacred Journey, a group home for young girls.

  • Teresa heiselt - nursery coordinator /scripture quilters director

    Teresa Heiselt, originally from Ohio came to Arizona in 1980. She was born into a christian home and came to know Jesus as her personal savior at age 14. She has been a Registered nurse for 40 years and now does respit work.

    She is the nursery coordinator and with a passion for quilting, helps lead the Patchwork Prayer Quilters Ministry.

    Having been a widow since 2005, she has 2 grown sons, Joseph and James with his wife Gabby and 2 young grandchildren, Elora and Dax. At home she lives with her two dogs Nicky and Cassie.

  • mary jo thomas - loves ministry Co-director

    Mary Jo Thomas serves as the LOVES Ministry Co-Director. Mary Jo, along with Sue Ruthardt, started the LOVES Ministry in 2017. She and her husband, Mike Thomas, have been apart of AJ First since 2010. Mary Jo is passionate about serving others, and spreading the love of Jesus throughout Apache Junction. Mary Jo also serves in AJ First's Women's Ministry, and is on our Prayer Altar Team. 

    Getting to know your Ministry Leaders:

    1.  What do you do for fun?  Eating out, table games, family gatherings and Disneyland.

    2.  What is your favorite?

    3.  Share a special childhood memory:  Saved at age 8 on Palm Sunday.  Baptized in the Holy Spirit at age 9.  Baptized in water at age 10.  Called to Ministry at age 12.  I remember the strong power and presence of the Holy Spirit in each of these events.

    4.  Share your best ministry experience:  Being the founder and vice-president of M & M Harvest Day Ministries International Inc., which we are soul supporters of Mwangaza Missionary Fellowship in Kenya.  We have remotely planted 27 churches in Kenya resulting in many salvations and deliverences.

  • Sue ruthardt - loves ministry co-director

    Sue and her husband, Joe, have been members of AJ First since 2010. Sue, along with Mary Jo Thomas, started the LOVES ministry in 2017. Sue loves to serve other people by cooking, mentoring, and loving those around her. Sue fervently desires people at AJ First to know God, and to serve Him along side her. 

  • Brad Gonzales - tHE Olive Branch editor

    Brad took over the Olive Branch newsletter in 2018. Brad & his wife Marie have been members of AJ First since 2017. Brad is great at researching and writing articles, which makes him the right choice for the Olive Branch. Brad also serves in several capacities at AJ First, making him a valuable addition to our church family.
